  • Action movie
  • A well known franchise
                                                                         Film Posters

LO: To analyse the film poster set texts effectively.

  • Released in September 2021
  • Daniel Craigs 5th and last movie
  • Delayed from April 2020
  • The films budget was 250-301 million, making it the most expensive Bond film to date
  • So far they have grossed over 774 million worldwide at the box office
  • The poster was designed by Empire designs

1. They are all linked to James Bond and it shows that he is the protagonist
2. Blue and orange linking to intelligence and happiness
3. The typography is slab serif and the use of capitals is meant to be more masculine
4. They are wearing suits and a dress to show they take there jobs and what they do very seriously. Them showing guns shows that they are going to fight and people will die. Nomi is wearing spy gear which shows she is another agent
5. This is an action genre
6. April 2nd original release date shows that it would release during the easter holidays so people could go and watch it.
7. The logo is 007 and stands out and it is very bold
8. The title at the top and showing the main character. But it doesn't have any main character names or anything like that

Friday 1st March 2024

Do now:

1. So far grossed 774 million from no time to die
2. The poster was design by Empire Design
3. No time to die was Daniel Craigs 5th and last movie
4. Sean Connery was the first ever James Bond actor
5. 7 actors have played James Bond

Intertextuality:

The montage design, where separate images are laid over each other, references previous Bond films, providing a sense of familiarity, nostalgia and pleasure to fans who recognise the link. The 007 gun logo acts as an intertextual link between no time to die and previous bond films.

Historically James Bond has been represented as masculine.
Women have been shown as pretty and there only for James.
Daniel Craigs James Bond actor is different as he is shown as old and focuses on him as an action hero.

3 girl and 3 boys shows equality.
James bond is very masculine due to the way he dresses. Shown many times which shows his dominance and that he's the protagonist.
The representation of ethnicity is diverse. Although the cast is still predominately white. But too have a black women take on the 007 role is very big for the bond franchise.
Young and elderly people are not represented but young adults are.

Wednesday 6th March

Do now:

  • Strong
  • Intelegent
  • Someone who takes risks
  • Expert with a weapon

Bond wearing a suit is typical for Bond films as over the whole franchise he is seen in a smart, masculine suit. Daniel Craigs James Bond is less sexist than any other actor which is unusual as it has been seen throughout the franchise that James Bond is sexist.

7 million pound budget and made over 97 million in gross profit
Prior to the 1990s illustrations were more commonly used on print adverts due to not much technology
Film was set in the middle of the 1973 energy crisis

1. To show many parts of what is going to happen and it looks enticing to the reader as there is a lot going on.
2. His facial expression shows he is calm and collected. His gun shows there will be murderous activity and his costume shows that he is on the job and very masculine.
 3. Shows he is rich and the main target for James Bond to eliminate in this movie.
4. This will apply to Roger Moore's fans and fans of Ian Flemings books.
5. The text saying the man with the golden gun creates an enigma code as he is anonymous and leads the audience into watching the film.
6. The hero as we know he is working for the good people and he will save the day.
7. Guns, fire and many different places show this is an action sand the use of showing many different places shows this is also an adventure film.

Them using the golden gun make us wonder who is behind it. This would make whomever sees this intrigued to watch the movie. It shows us that the man behind the gun is James Bond enemy in this movie and they will have an epic showdown in the end. The gun being pointed at James Bond also shows us this. Them being seen in many places with many different things going on shows us that this is an action/adventure film. Jame Bond being centred shows he is the protagonist which connotes that everything will be based around him.
