A style, especially in the arts, that involves particular set of characteristics.
Hybrid- mixture of two or more genres
Sub Genres-
Comedy:
1. The main genre convention for comedy is jokes and things along the lines of that.
2. Adam Mckay [step brother], Paul Feig [ghostbusters], Harold Ramis [groundhog day].
3. Jack Black and Kevin Hart.
4. Grown Ups, Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore.
5. In grown ups they are being over exaggerated to make it look funny and like something is happening.
6. Comedy because they are always funny

Genre conventions for comedy in trailers:
1.Fast upbeat music and long cut so they can include a funny action or phrase.
2.Cuts are quick and sharp.
3.Funny lines and characters to actually make it comedic.
4.Always on the move, around a lot of places maybe in different countries or cities quite often.
5.The music is all quite similar with a fast tempo and loud for a certain amount of time until somebody starts to talk and then it fades down and then back up again.
6.The costumes are casual / normal, everyday clothes.
7.Most of them include some sort of use of alcohol.
Film Method:
1. Make a funny character who makes many jokes to make it comedic. 2. Bring a funny story but make it part action-adventure. 3. Meet a character who they eventually fall in love with. 4. They go on the whole mission together throughout the movie. 5. Bring along fast cuts with many funny jokes.
Trailer Method:
1. Make a funny character who makes many jokes to make it comedic. 2.Use funny scenes that are included in the movie and a few jokes. 3.Show a part of the important clip so the person watching would wanna see what happens so they go and watch the movie.
